Guy Gardner: Warrior #25 - Nov. 1994

sg
"Family Ties" by Beau Smith, Mitch Byrd, and Dan Davis.

Never having read a single issue of this series, I have no idea what's going on, why Guy Gardner looks like this, etc.

But I do know that halfway through the issue, The Phantom Stranger shows up to help out with someone in a "possession coma"
:

...the Stranger helps Guy reach another realm of existence, but says he can only go so far. Maybe he just couldn't stop himself from laughing at how Guy looks in his Warrior costume.

Yeah, DC in the early 90s was about as bad as they are NOW. Yeesh.

Come on, guys....doesn't anyone have a sense of humor? True, the costume /war paint was a bit much, but DC wanted change then.

All in good fun,

Beau-

No offense intended. I admit (and have when discussing other series I'm not familiar with) that while I have no idea what might be going on, that doesn't mean the book is bad or anything.

If anything I've learned from doing these blogs, its that every single series--no matter how goofy it looks to other people--is someone's all-time favorite, ever!

This lasted at least 25 issues? Wow. Color me stunned. But you know, in spite of the ridiculousness of Guy Gardner's "Warrior" getup, the dialogue doesn't seem that bad.
